This is a basic overview of home and community-based waiver programs, including the Community Alternatives for Disabled Individuals (CADI) waiver, Community Alternative Care Waiver (CAC) and Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver (TBI). The service menu for each will be reviewed along with examples of how each are used and the process to apply. The session will also include an overview of Consumer Directed Community Supports. Transition Services

Hennepin Co. is offering this workshop to cover things families need to consider when their child is between 18 and 21: applications for Social Security, preparing to move from school to work, selecting vocational or other programs, participating in a guardianship assessment and learning about services available. Safe Kids, Healthy Relationships

The Healthy Relationship Project invites families to this three-part event to have fun, connect and learn about safe social connections. Families should have at least one family member who has or is suspected of having Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Children ages 2-7 will participate in structured play through the Special Olympics Young Athletes Program. Youth ages 8-15 will learn about friendships, safety and bullying. Parents can connect with each other to share resources, tools and tips for keeping children safe. Families are encouraged to attend all three parts, but it isn't required. Additional sessions are Oct. 24 and Nov. 21, same time and location. FREE but pre-registration is required. Register online at www.arcgreatertwincities.org.
