Micro-Enterprise - Generating Income Training for Self-Advocates May 22-23
People with disabilities who are interested in starting a business are invited to this highly interactive two-day training designed to help fine tune money-making ideas, develop business and action plans, and consider all that goes into starting a business.
Karen Gaffney Imagines the Possibilities
You’ll be inspired by Karen Gaffney, who swam the English Channel, graduated from community college with honors, and is starting her own foundation. Gaffney, who has Down syndrome, will speak at a free event at 6:30 p.m., May 14 at Oak Grove Middle School, Bloomington.
Preliminary Strategic Planning Recommendations for ICF/MRs Presented May 9
The MN Dept. of Human Services Disability Services has been studying Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs/MRs) and will present its preliminary strategic plan for the future for discussion with stakeholders in West St. Paul May 9. The final plan goes to the legislature in December.
