Thanks to Pippi Ardennia and Arne Fogel, Rebecca Fogel and Maud Hixson, it was an evening of great jazz, along with fabulous live and silent auctions, a cocktail reception, a scrumptious dinner and more — and you responded generously!  Proceeds topped $300,000 (gross). THANK YOU!


Spotlight on Advocacy

The focus of the 2012 Arc Gala was advocacy — one-to-one personal assistance for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Advocacy makes all the difference for those who face challenges ranging from isolation and economic hardships to abuse, discrimination, and lack of employment and housing. The Arc Greater Twin Cities is one of the few agencies offering this critical service. Thank you for helping raise over $88,000 for this important program.

Arne & Rebecca Fogel, Maud Hixson

Arne Fogel appears frequently at the top jazz venues in the Twin Cities and is familiar to many as an on-air personality as well. For 12 years he produced and hosted “Arne Fogel Presents” on the Minnesota Public Radio network. Arne’s current radio program is “The Bing Shift” on KBEM-Jazz88, and his latest radio series is “Minnesota Voices — Certain Standards.” He was joined by his daughter, singer Rebecca Fogel, and singer Maud Hixson.


Pippi Ardennia

Pippi Ardennia and Glenn Swanson composed a special song for The Arc Gala with the theme "Make this a Good Life." Thanks to help from Wells Pianos, PipJazz Sundays; Field Technique Films; MediaXpress, Minneapolis Media Institute and McNally Smith College of Music, all Gala guests received a CD with the song.  Pippi is the featured artist for PipJazz Sundays at the Landmark Center.
