St. Paul Gives Arc’s Value Village a Warm Welcome
November 21, 2009
Eager shoppers lined up outside Arc’s Value Village Thrift Store & Donation
Center in the Hillcrest Shopping Center for the Grand Opening on Nov. 21. St.
Paul City Council Member Dan Bostrom and Arc Greater Twin Cities Board Chair
Steve Hayes greeted the crowd and then Manager Beth Larson officially opened
the store by cutting a “ribbon” of merchandise.
Festivities included a game of “The Thrift Price is Right” with emcee M.A.
Rosko of Fox 9. There were also free reusable shopping bags for the first 300
customers, a visit from Santa and refreshments. The real attraction, however,
was the shopping. Customers filled their carts with clothing, house wares,
Christmas items, books, toys and more. Especially popular was clothing from
men’s clothier Hubert White, which held a week-long donation drive to collect
$1 million in gently used clothing from its customers.
