Members of the Ugandan Parliament Visit Arc on Disabilities Study Tour

Arc was honored to welcome five members of the Ugandan Parliament on Thursday, June 14. The Hon. Rhoda Acen; Hon. Florence Ssekabira Nayiga; Hon. Alex Ndeezi; Hon. William Wilson Nokrach and Hon. John Livingstone Okello Okello all work on disability issues in Uganda. The delegation first spent a week in Washington D.C. learning about public policy regarding disabilities. Rep. Jim Ramstad urged them to visit Minnesota because of the state’s progressive stance on disability policy. Arc board members David Saltzman, Jill Holte Weldin and Eduardo Montes and public policy volunteer Heidi Myhre participated in the meeting, which was sponsored by the International Republican Institute.
