Arc members tell legislature "We are Waiting"

The Arc of Minnesota, Arc Greater Twin Cities and Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota held a press conference at the Capitol to highlight the long wait that many experience to receive services for their children with disabilities and the high fees that others must pay to receive services. Speakers included Jean Bender, president of The Arc of Minnesota and the parent of a son with significant disabilities; Rep. Patti Fritz, District 26B, Faribault; Steve Hayes, first vice chair of the Arc Greater Twin Cities board of directors and the father of a son with disabilities; Rev. Craig Johnson, Bishop, Minneapolis Area Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Lutheran Social Services board member and father of a daughter with disabilities and Rep.
