ST. PAUL – Arc Greater Twin Cities is pleased to announce that
Charlie Weaver, executive director of the Minnesota Business Partnership, has
joined Arc’s Honorary Board.
Arc’s Honorary Board is composed of 25 community leaders who offer insight and
counsel to Arc’s board of directors, help raise the agency’s visibility within
targeted communities and provide access to key community resources.
“We’re delighted that Charlie Weaver has chosen to share his insight and
expertise with Arc,” said Kim Keprios, Arc’s Chief Executive Officer. “His
exceptional leadership in the nonprofit community and extensive knowledge of
law, government and public policy will be immensely valuable to Arc’s work. I’m
confident that his assistance and influence will help Arc improve more lives in
our community.”
Weaver has a distinguished record of achievement in business and public
service. Since 2003 he has been executive director of the Minnesota Business
Partnership, a nonpartisan public policy organization representing Minnesota’s
leading employers. Previously, he was Chief of Staff for Governor Tim Pawlenty
during his first year in office. Weaver has also served as Commissioner of the
Minnesota Department of Public Safety, spearheaded Minnesota’s Office of
Homeland Security and served as a criminal prosecutor in Anoka County. His
public service career began with his 1988 election to the Minnesota House of
Representatives, where he served until 1998 as Assistant Minority Leader.
Weaver is also active in numerous civic and professional organizations.
