• Sibling Programs

  Growing up with a brother or sister with a disability is life-changing, challenging and rewarding! SibShops are programs for children ages 6-12. Kids take part in recreational activities and games that encourage informal sharing, problem-solving, making new friends and having fun. 

• Abuse Prevention and Awareness

  People with disabilities are at far greater risk for abuse than people without disabilities and most abuse is unreported. The Arc Greater Twin Cities has made abuse prevention a top priority and is working closely with the Ramsey County Sexual Assault Committee, Carver County Sexual Assault Interagency Committee and Hennepin County SMART team to make sure the needs of people with disabilities are served.
  • Access a wealth of research and articles
  • The Arc offers Abuse Prevention training for case managers, direct support staff and others who work with people with disabilities.
  • "It's Your Choice, Find Your Voice" training is designed for adults with disabilities and focuses on how to have safe, healthy relationships and how to speak up about abuse.

• Common Connections

  Common Connections matches a more experienced person - a mentor - with another person - a mentee - to share information, support and understanding. The program celebrates the strength and resilience of the disability community and spirit of "paying it forward."  

• GetSet! Training for Special Education Success

  Providing parents tools to advocate for their child from birth to age 21

• Lifetime Assistance Program

  Helping you plan for a safe, healthy and happy future for your loved one with a disability

• Networking & Family Access Groups

  Arc networking groups for parents and caregivers and Family Access Groups geared toward culturally specific communities meet monthly all over the metropolitan area. Find a networking or Family Access group near you!

• Self Advocacy

  Empowering adults with disabilities to speak for themselves

The parents in our group generally have younger kids  age 8 and under. The group is a great place to connect with other parents  that's the biggest benefit for me.
